Sorry all, I posted this in the wrong discussion forum and have copied it into this forum-
Hello All-
Thanks to the help of this group I have sealed the pores of the mahogoney and have put the final layer of zpoxy down (60/40 based on MP's suggestion). I then took 400 grit sandpaper to lightly sand the dust specs and slight streaks. What results are two problems.
1.) when i look at the wood from an angle I see tiny shiney spots as in this picture. When I wet the wood with naptha these spots are not visible, only when dry
Do I go on to finish with Nitro or do something else?
2.) If I continue to sand the spots away I eat into my 60/40 layer and there is a color variation as shown in the picture below. When it is wet with Naptha, no issues. Do I go on to finish with Nitro or do something else?
So as you can see I seem to be going in circles. I put on the final 60/40 coat, lightly sand with 400 to remove dust specs then I have spots so I continue to sand, when I continue to sand I have to keep sanding because I get uneven colors as in picture 2. After all that I repeat the seal coat and the dreaded circle continues!
Thanks!
